Why Voxelcore

Why Brands Tool With Voxelcore

Tooling engineered with rigour, transparent pricing, and one accountable project engineer end to end.

WHY / 01

Aluminium Prototype Tooling

Cut in 3 to 5 weeks for bridge production runs of 100 to 10,000 parts, at a fraction of the cost of hardened steel tooling.

WHY / 02

Hardened Steel Production Tools

P20, H13 and stainless tool steels for high cycle production tools rated from 100,000 up to over 1,000,000 shots.

WHY / 03

Engineered Cooling And Gating

Conformal cooling, hot runner systems and balanced multi cavity layouts engineered for cycle time and part quality.

WHY / 04

DFM Before First Cut

Mould flow review and gate optimisation happen before any tool steel is touched, catching issues at design stage rather than at T1.

WHY / 05

Dedicated Project Manager

Tooling is managed locally by a tooling engineer, one point of contact, an accountable timeline and transparent pricing throughout.

WHY / 06

GST Compliant Invoicing

Clear, itemised tooling invoices, GST compliant throughout, with the finished tool and parts dispatched anywhere in India.

Our Workflow

From Tool Concept To T1 Approved Tooling

A clear, engineer managed process from first concept review through to a signed off, production ready tool.

STEP 01

Tool Concept And DFM

We review your part, target volume and cycle time. Tool layout, gating, ejection and cooling are engineered before we quote.

STEP 02

Tooling Design And CAD

Full tool CAD is produced and shared with you, covering core, cavity, ejector plate, cooling channels and gating layout.

STEP 03

Manufacture And Inspection

Aluminium tools are CNC cut in 3 to 5 weeks. Steel tools include heat treatment and hand fitting, taking 6 to 10 weeks.

STEP 04

T1 Sampling And Tuning

First shot parts are produced, dimensionally inspected and tuned in. The tool is signed off only once you approve the T1 samples.

What We Deliver

Tooling Engineered Before Steel Is Cut

A poor tooling decision is the most expensive mistake in plastic manufacturing, because the only real fix is more tool steel and more weeks of lead time. Voxelcore India engineers tooling thoroughly ahead of manufacture, mould flow simulation, gate placement, ejection pin layout, cooling balance and shrinkage compensation are all worked through in CAD before a single chip is cut. The result is tooling that produces good parts on T1, not after several rounds of expensive rework.

Materials

Tool Steels We Work With

The right tool steel matched to your shot volume, part finish and how abrasive your polymer is, specified per job.

Bridge

7075 Aluminium

Lightweight, fast to cut aluminium for prototype and bridge production tooling, rated for roughly 5,000 to 10,000 shots.

Production

P20 Pre Hardened Steel

Mid grade tool steel for production tooling on non abrasive polymers, with roughly 100,000 shot life on standard cosmetic tools.

High Volume

H13 Hot Work Steel

Hardened, high grade tool steel for long production runs with abrasive glass filled or carbon filled polymers.

Medical / Optical

Stainless 420

Corrosion resistant stainless for medical, optical and food contact tooling that needs repeated polishing over its life.

Industries We Serve

What We Tool For

From single cavity prototype tools to high cavitation production programmes for Indian and export brands.

Consumer Product Tooling

Cosmetic finish steel tooling for retail ready housings, packaging and accessories, typically 50,000 to 500,000 shot life.

Medical Device Tooling

Validated tooling for single use medical disposables, fluid handling components and sterile pack instrument bodies.

Automotive Tier 2 Tooling

Production tooling for under bonnet clips, fasteners, sensor enclosures and aftermarket trim parts.

Electrical And Electronics

Insert moulded brass terminal housings, shielded enclosures and panel mount production tooling.

Industrial OEM Tooling

Replacement tooling for legacy products, second source tooling for production resilience, and capacity expansion tools.

Prototype To Production Bridge

Aluminium bridge tooling that proves the product out, then transitions to hardened steel once volume is confirmed.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

A single cavity aluminium prototype tool for a small part generally starts around ₹1,50,000 to ₹3,00,000. A hardened steel production tool for a cosmetic consumer part usually falls between ₹4,00,000 and ₹15,00,000 for a single cavity, and climbs from there for multi cavity or family tools.

Aluminium prototype tooling runs 3 to 5 weeks from approved CAD. Hardened steel production tooling takes 6 to 10 weeks once heat treatment is factored in. An express option can be quoted for launches on a tight deadline.

Aluminium is quicker and cheaper to cut, but wear starts showing after roughly 10,000 shots. Steel, whether P20 or H13, comfortably handles 100,000 shots and beyond, takes a cosmetic polish well, and stands up to abrasive glass filled polymers that would chew through aluminium. Which one makes sense comes down to your expected volume.

Yes. Spare cores, cavities and inserts are standard practice for tooling that a production line depends on. We keep the CAD on file afterward so a replacement can be cut immediately if it is ever needed.

Yes. For higher cavitation production tools we design balanced hot runner manifolds with independently controlled drops, which cuts cycle time and reduces gate marks on cosmetic parts.

Tooling is designed and manufactured inside our own facility in India, with a dedicated tooling engineer managing the programme from concept to sign off, so you always have one accountable point of contact rather than being handed off to an outside tool room.
